SUMMARY:EGEUS-ETS EDUCATIONAL WEBINAR - "EUS and ERCP: together for an effective biliary drainage"
DESCRIPTION:Scientific Rationale \n Biliary drainage represents a key therapeutic intervention in the management of benign and malignant biliary obstruction\, including neoplastic strictures\, complex choledocholithiasis\, and post-surgical complications. \nEndoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) remains the standard of care for biliary access and intervention. However\, selective biliary cannulation may be challenging in a proportion of cases\, increasing the risk of adverse events such as post-ERCP pancreatitis\, bleeding\, and perforation. A structured step-up approach to difficult cannulation is therefore essential to optimize technical success and patient safety. \nEndoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)\, initially developed as a diagnostic modality\, has progressively expanded into therapeutic applications. EUS-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD) has emerged as an effective and minimally invasive alternative in cases of failed ERCP\, reducing the need for percutaneous or surgical drainage and contributing to improved patient management algorithms. \nThe integration of ERCP and EUS within a shared decision-making pathway represents an important evolution in therapeutic endoscopy. Continuous professional education is required to ensure appropriate indication\, technical proficiency\, and evidence-based application of these complementary techniques. \nThis webinar aims to: \n\nProvide an evidence-based update on step-up strategies for difficult biliary cannulation during ERCP;\nDiscuss indications and clinical outcomes of EUS-guided biliary drainage following failed ERCP in both benign and malignant diseases;\nPromote a structured and patient-centered algorithm for biliary drainage;\nEnhance procedural safety and quality of care through expert international discussion.\n\nThe educational content is exclusively scientific in nature and is intended to support the appropriate and rational use of endoscopic techniques in accordance with current international guidelines. \nEducational Rationale \nRapid technological advancements and the expansion of therapeutic EUS demand structured educational programs aimed at: \n\nUpdating endoscopists on step-up strategies for difficult biliary cannulation\nDefining evidence-based indications for EUS-guided biliary drainage\nOptimizing procedural sequencing between ERCP and EUS\nReducing complication rates through tailored technical approaches\nPromoting multidisciplinary and algorithm-driven clinical decision-making\n\nThis international webinar is designed to provide an in-depth scientific update on: \n\nERCP and biliary cannulation as a structured step-up process\, with emphasis on advanced techniques in difficult cases.\nThe role of EUS after failed ERCP in both benign and malignant biliary diseases.\nIntegration of conventional and EUS-guided approaches within modern biliary drainage algorithms.\nExpert discussion and interactive exchange among European specialists to align best practices\n\nLearning Objectives \nAt the end of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nApply evidence-based algorithms in the management of biliary obstruction.\nRecognize predictors of difficult ERCP and implement appropriate escalation strategies.\nUnderstand indications\, technical aspects\, and outcomes of EUS-guided biliary drainage.\nOptimize patient safety by minimizing procedure-related complications.\nIntegrate EUS and ERCP within a comprehensive therapeutic strategy tailored to individual patient scenarios.\n\nClick here to download Scientific Program \nScientific Coordinators \n Claudio Giovanni De Angelis (Turin\, Italy) \nRaffaele Manta (Leghorn\, Italy) \nVincenzo Mirante (Reggio Emilia\, Italy) \nNico Pagano (Novara\, Italy) \nAndrea Tringali (Rome\, Italy) \n  \nFaculty \n László Czakó (Szeged\, Hungary) \nKohoutova Darina (London\, UK) \nClaudio Giovanni De Angelis (Turin\, Italy) \nPham Khanh Do-Cong (Bergen\, Norway) \nRaffaele Manta (Leghorn\, Italy) \nManu Nayar (Newcastle\, UK) \nNico Pagano (Novara\, Italy) \nMarco Sacco (Turin\, Italy) \nAndrea Tringali (Rome\, Italy) \nREGISTRATION CLOSED

SUMMARY:PANCREATIC CANCER: from screening to treatment
DESCRIPTION:Scientific Rationale \nPancreatic cancer remains one of the most aggressive malignancies\, characterized by late diagnosis and poor overall survival. The absence of effective population-wide screening strategies and the typically asymptomatic early stages contribute significantly to delayed detection and limited therapeutic options. Recent advances in imaging modalities\, endoscopic techniques\, and molecular risk stratification have renewed interest in targeted screening approaches for high-risk individuals. Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and advanced cross-sectional imaging play a central role in early detection strategies\, particularly in patients with genetic predisposition\, familial pancreatic cancer syndromes\, or premalignant pancreatic lesions. Beyond early detection\, the diagnostic pathway for pancreatic cancer requires a structured and multidisciplinary approach\, integrating imaging\, tissue acquisition\, staging\, and therapeutic planning. Accurate assessment of tumor resectability and timely referral to appropriate oncologic or surgical management are essential to improve patient outcomes. Continuous scientific evaluation is necessary to determine whether current evidence supports broader implementation of screening programs and to define standardized diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms. \nEDCATIONAL RATIONALE \nGiven the evolving landscape of pancreatic cancer management\, healthcare professionals must remain updated on emerging screening strategies\, validated risk stratification models\, and advances in diagnostic accuracy. Variability in patient selection\, imaging interpretation\, and procedural approaches may influence clinical outcomes. A structured educational initiative is therefore essential to: \n\nClarify current evidence regarding pancreatic cancer screening;\nDefine appropriate selection criteria for high-risk populations;\nStandardize diagnostic and staging pathways;\nPromote multidisciplinary coordination in therapeutic decision-making.\n\nThis international webinar provides an evidence-based overview of pancreatic cancer screening readiness\, diagnostic workflows\, and therapeutic integration\, fostering harmonized practices among European and international specialists. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \nAt the end of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify high-risk populations eligible for pancreatic cancer screening;\nEvaluate the current evidence supporting screening strategies;\nUnderstand the role of EUS and advanced imaging in early detection and staging;\nApply structured diagnostic and therapeutic pathways in pancreatic cancer management;\nIntegrate multidisciplinary decision-making to optimize patient outcomes.\n\nThe educational content is exclusively scientific in nature and is intended to support evidence-based clinical practice in accordance with current international guidelines and standards of care. \nClick here to download Scientific Program \nScientific Coordinators \nClaudio Giovanni De Angelis (Torino\, Italy) \nRaffaele Manta (Leghorn\, Italy) \nVincenzo Giorgio Mirante (Verona\, Italy) \nNico Pagano (Novara\, Italy) \n Faculty \nCarmelo Barbera (Teramo\, Italy) \nClaudio Giovanni De Angelis (Torino\, Italy) \nPietro Fusaroli (Imola\, Itlay) \nRodica Gincul (Lyon\, France) \nMatthew Huggett (Leeds\, UK) \nNuno Nunes (Ponta Delgada\, Azores\, Portugal) \nVincenzo Giorgio Mirante (Verona\, Italy) \nMaria Teresa Soria San Teodoro ( Zaragoza\, Spain) \n Andrada Seicean ( Cluj-Napoca\, Romania) \nREGISTRATION CLOSED
